All good things come to an end....

And it's this blog's time to end. It has served me well, but I really want to show off bigger images and have something new. 

I have to admit I am no computer whiz, far from it, so it has taken me some time to set up a new blog. But it is now ready for viewing! Please check it out!

Citylife: Some of my own

Hey there! I know I said I would post more, but I have been coming up with plans for a new blog so this one may be sparse for a while longer. 

I just have some recent shots of my oldest and very lovely daughter to share.  She was such a trooper for this session! It was WAY colder than we anticipated once we got out and started shooting. But she held in there for some great shots for me and my buddy Sunny  and then we went to Starbucks for a carmel apple spice. It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning!

Homelife: Love this little sweetie!

I'm sure I say it everytime I share a sneak peek of this lovely little girl, but she is sooooo sweet and I LOVE taking photographs of her. Anyone who may follow my blog (is there anyone besides my sisters and a couple friends?!) has watched her grow up along with me as I take her portraits every 3 months.

This time she was crawling and exploring and silly. I love how her hair and teeth are growing in! Mom and Dad are always wonderful to work with as well. Thank you so much B family for yet another beautiful session! 

I think this one is my favorite shot of the day.

Calling Class of 2010

Now through March 10th I will be accepting applications for senior reps. Students will be chosen from all Tri Cities area and Prosser high schools.

Hello?

Anybody there? I'm not sure anyone even comes here anymore since I went into winter hibernation. LOL! :)  I had a truly wonderful holiday season and have been enjoying time with my family, which has gotten me out of the habit of blogging. We have discovered the totally fun and addicting game of Rockband for our Wii. It's awesome!

I have been working also though, not just playing. I have been updating my website which is almost complete. Go check it out and let me know what you think! Pretty much all new images. Also working on family projects and getting geared up for spring sessions. 

I will be updating more often from now on so please start visiting again! :)

And since I don't like to post  without a photo, here are some shots of my niece that I love, but didn't make the cut for my website.

I just want to thank all of you who have allowed me to spend some time with you, capturing you and your families with my camera. I have worked with so many great people,  I just have the best job! Thank you all for helping me enjoy this love affair with photography I have.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, spent with those you love! I've had such an awesome year and look forward to spending lots of time with family these next two weeks, can't wait! :)   

So, speaking of family I meant to share these around Thanksgiving, but didn't get a chance to. My superstar photo buddy Sunny Wright took these portraits for us right before all the beautiful fall leaves disappeared and I counldn't be happier with them! 

I wish I had more to share, but since I'm editing them myself (working some Photoshop magic on them, not that they need much though) they have been on the back burner. I can't wait to finish working on more this month. 

Thank you Sunny for such a perfect gift!!

The Urban Session: Attempting it with my own

Okay, so urban sessions are cool and always a fun adventure...but when they are my own kids and one of them is 18 months old it really isn't too fun and the shots never come out as cool as I had planned or imagined. 

Actually, I geared up  for this shoot by telling myself that I probably wouldn't get anything good, but the sun was shining and why not try? So I let go of my frustrations as much as I could and had a good laugh.

 I thought these shots were beyond saving (the exposure was way off because of the sun behind them) but I loved the interaction they showed. So some photoshop magic actually worked! They are a lot different than most of my work but I love them. I like the old film kind of feel they have and my littlest looks so adorable and goofy at the same time in that hat I made her wear!

So if you ever feel bad or frustrated that your child/children are not acting the way you would like them to during a session, just don't.  I've never photographed a child that has been more difficult to capture  than my own!  :) 

A sweet little Thanksgiving blessing

I had the wonderful pleasure of working with the T family again and of meeting their newest addition, little baby A. She was born a few days before Thanksgiving and was such a lovely subject to photograph! It was so nice to feel the love this family has for her and I even got to meet Grandma. The session reminded me of how happy I am to have each of my children and what a blessing my family is to me.

Thank you once again T family! I hope you are all still doing well and getting some sleep! :)

  

 

  

 

 

The Urban Session: Maternity portraits

Yes, you read that correctly! :)  As I said in another post, urban locations can be great for almost any kind of session if you are looking for something different and modern.

I have done more maternity sessions this year than ever before and am having a wonderful time with them. I feel like I still have so much to learn, but have grown a lot in this area of my work. 

While I do love taking traditional shots,  I was super excited when the lovely R said she wanted to work on location and was up for downtown.  Thank you so much R for the opportunity to try new things! I think they turned out awesome.

 

 

 

It was so fun having hubby there too! I just can't believe that he is as uncomfortable in front of the camera as he says. He was a complete natural! And I have to say that these are some of  new my favorite shots. Thank you guys again for such a rockin' session!!

 

 

A beautiful couple
